Inp.polri.go.id - Semarang.  Salma Aulia, an 18-year-old karate champion and gold medalist at the O2SN World Karate Championship, is pursuing her dream of becoming a policewoman.

Salma, currently a candidate for the Indonesian Police Academy (Akpol), recently showcased her karate skills during the central evaluation test. Despite initial nerves in front of senior police officers, she gained confidence and performed with poise.

“This is my first time applying to the Police Academy,” she said after the test at the Paramartha Building, Akpol Complex, Semarang, on Friday (26/7/2024).

Her ambition to join the police force began in her youth when she first practiced karate at the Koja Police Station dojo in North Jakarta. Salma was also trained in drill routines as a child police cadet.

Currently, while still a national-level student athlete, Salma also trains young karate students in her local dojo.

She expressed her gratitude for her parents' support despite their modest background and is hopeful about her chances in the Akpol selection.

“I am confident and grateful for my parents' support,” Salma said.
