Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. A woman was found dead in Dekai, Papua Mountains, following a violent assault allegedly carried out by sympathizers of the West Papua Armed Criminal Group (KKB), the Damai Cartenz Task Force confirmed Sunday (19/10/2025). 

The victim, identified as 40-year-old Anhy Armyanti, was attacked on Saturday night on Jalan Sosial, Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency.

“Based on reports we received, the suspected perpetrators are sympathizers of the KKB,” said Brigadier General Faizal Ramadani, the Commander of Damai Cartenz Task Force, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The local police received an emergency radio report about a stabbing and severe assault against a civilian. A joint task force from Damai Cartenz Task Force and Yahukimo Sub-regional Police immediately responded and evacuated the victim, but she succumbed to her injuries.

Earlier in the week, KKB members reportedly attacked another civilian, Bahar bin Saleh, 55, who died after being beaten near the GIDI Siloam Church in Dekai.
