Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The General Election Commission (KPU) states that they have submitted a request to President Jokowi to held a Repeat Election Vote (PSU) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. KPU proposed that PSU in Kuala Lumpur would be held in March 9th and 10th.
“Because we don’t have much time, we have reported the issue to the president, we implore for facilitation support so that we could have further communication,” said KPU Chairperson Hasyim Asy’ari on Monday (3/4/2024).
Hasyim explains that the communication he meant was with the Malaysian Prime Minister. He implores the Indonesian President to facilitate the opportunity for KPU in holding PSU in Kuala Lumpur by asking for facilitation support from the PM.
KPU Chairperson says that the Kuala Lumpur PSU will use two methods, which vote through polling stations, and vote through mobile ballot box. His party has held open plenary meeting to determine Kuala Lumpur permanent voter list on Sunday (3/2/2024) night.
The plenary meeting will show the numbers of voter who will vote in polling stations and voters who will vote through mobile ballot box. KPU also revealed there are 447,258 voters in Kuala Lumpur.
Among those numbers, there are 222,945 voters who will vote in Polling Stations, then there are 67,976 voters who will vote through mobile ballot box, and 156,367 others through post.
However, of the 222,945 voters who will vote in polling stations, only 2,264 came, which is only one percent of the total voters.
