Lampung Regional Police Chief Inspector General Helmy Santika set two key goals for his subordinates to seriously pursue: achieving social legitimacy and upholding the rule of law. "There are two goals that every member of the Lampung Regional Police, without exception, is expected to seriously pursue: achieving social legitimacy and upholding the rule of law," he said on Tuesday (16/1/2024). In the pursuit of social legitimacy, the police officers are mandated to adopt a humanistic and professional attitude in their interactions with the public, avoiding arrogance and staying focused. Chief Helmy emphasized that Lampung Police officers must be professional, transparent and accountable in order to achieve legitimacy in law enforcement. "Members should also be communicative and prioritize scientific crime investigation in case handling," he added.
