Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Resilience Institute, known as Lemhannas, has embarked on a series of four in-depth risk assessments in preparation for the political landscape leading up to the 2024 elections. "Regular reporting of these four risk studies to the President is imperative," Lemhanas Governor Andi Widjajanto said during the 24th Batch of Short Education Program (PPSA) 2023  in Jakarta on Tuesday (3/10/23). He said that the risk assessment studies encompass a thorough evaluation of both global and national political and economic risks. This includes the analysis of risks related to Papua and democracy, as well as the interplay of interests among the United States, China, and Indonesia. Governor Andi disclosed that the current risk score for the successful implementation of democracy in 2024 stood at two out of ten. However, he anticipated an increase to four or five after the presidential and vice-presidential nomination phase in mid-October 2023, as well as throughout the election campaign period from late November 2023 to early February 2024. Lemhannas collaborates with the Presidential Staff Office and the National Resilience Council to conduct monthly risk assessments. The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure a well-structured democratic process for the 2024 elections. Several mitigated risks were associated with the electoral process, including concerns about digital democracy, social media usage, foreign interference, and increased political tensions. Governor Andi emphasized that these risks were evaluated each month. (ar/ndt/pr/nm)
