Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Manpower Minister Ida Fauziyah says the government continue to expand job opportunities for Indonesian, including working abroad, through collaboration with foreign countries.
"We will not only offer job opportunities here in the state, but also to foreign countries," says Minister Ida on Friday (8/23/2024).
She said that Indonesia can acquire more job opportunities as the state has demographic bonus. Many countries are now experiencing an aging population, which means they need a lot of workers to carry their economic state.
Moreover, the Manpower Ministry also do business matching with foreign countries, with the closest schedule is to be with Japan in this September.
Ida adds that they will do the same collaboration with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, also potentially with Australia and European countries.
"Our job opportunities in here also must be opened as widely as possible. There will be a lot of investment came in here and we have to prepare ourselves for that," explains Minister Ida.
According to the data from the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency (BP2MI), it shows that in January-July 2024, 22,346 Indonesian workers have been flown to their destination countries. This number decreased by 15.79 percent compared to the same period last year.
