Metro Jaya Police Deploys 6,757 Personnel for Presidential Inauguration

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police are deploying 6,757 personnel to ensure security for the inauguration of the president and vice president for the 2024-2029 term, scheduled for Sunday.

"The security detail includes members from Metro Jaya Police, regional police, Kodam Jaya military command, the Jakarta administration, and related parties," said Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam Indradi, the Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations, on Thursday (17/10/2024).

The deployment consists of 4,100 officers from the Metro Jaya Task Force, 1,667 from various regional police task forces, 857 from the Central Jakarta metropolitan Sub-regional Police, and 133 from the Jakarta administration and related agencies.

Security measures will focus on protecting the president and vice president, visiting foreign dignitaries, VIP and VVIP vehicles, the House of Representatives vicinityI, and key routes.

Chief Ade Ary said that traffic management will be situational, with police redirecting traffic if congestion occurs around Senayan in Central Jakarta. He urged road users to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

The newly elected president Prabowo Subianto and vice president Gibran Rakabuming Raka will be inaugurated on Sunday, followed by a handover ceremony with outgoing President Joko Widodo, according to antaranews.com.
