Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have launched an internal investigation into several officers allegedly involved in a “catcalling” incident, verbal sexual harassment in public, that went viral on social media this week.

“The personnel involved have been subjected to disciplinary action by the Brimob Unit Provost of the Metro Jaya Police,” Metro Jaya Police Head of Public Relations Brigadier General Ade Ary Syam Indradi said in a statement on Wednesday )29/10/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

The officers are now under formal disciplinary examination by the Internal Affairs Unit .

“The investigation is ongoing, and once completed, we will submit the results to the Public Relations Division,” added Metro Jaya Police Head of the Internal Affairs Unit Senor Superintendent Radjo Alriadi Harahap.

The case emerged after TikTok user @jessynirmalaa posted a video claiming she was catcalled by uniformed police officers while walking home from a pilates session.

“It made me really angry because they were police officers, and one of them kept shouting at me,” she said in the viral clip, which sparked public outrage online.
