inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Human Rights (HAM), Natalius Pigai, explains that the Ministry of Human Rights (HAM) focuses on human rights development through government political policies.

"While the National Commission (Komnas) HAM supervises human rights. Then our job is to develop human rights through the government's political policie," he said on Monday (10/21/2024).

In his statement he said, Komnas HAM is an institution under the principal line of the United Nations and requires every country to have it. While the Ministry of Human Rights is a ministry that is formed to develop human rights.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the Ministry of Human Rights is a new nomenclature in the Red and White Cabinet led by President Prabowo Subianto. This ministry is a development of the Directorate General of Human Rights which was previously part of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

"The Ministry of Human Rights is a form of President Prabowo's desire to carry out the mandate of the constitution to respect and honor human rights," he concluded.
