inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Information prepares the formation of an anti-hoax task force to oversee the informations spreading in digital space during the 2024 Regional Head Election.

The task force will not only involve the Communication and Information ministry personnel, but also invites digital platform parties that operate in Indonesia such as Meta Group (Instagram, Facebook, Whatsapp), Google (YouTube), X, TikTok, and SnackVideo.

“We are providing space so they can be proactive in preventing hoax related to the Regional Head Elections topic. So far, all prominent digital platforms have conveyed their commitment to join in the effort until the election is over,” says the Director General of Information and Public Communication, Prabunindya Revta Revolusi on Monday (9/30/2024).

Prabunindya also states that the task force is being formed and will be launched in the near future so they can immediately operate to help eradicate hoax related to 2024 Regional Head Elections.

Furthermore, Prabunindya also conveyed that his party not only collaborates with digital platforms, but also other mass media publications.

He says the use of mainstream media can help campaign the appeal of conducive and peaceful elections.

As of September 30th, 2024, the ministry states there are no increasing hoax spreading in digital space, particularly related to the 2024 Regional Head Election.
