Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati confirmed the government will not impose new taxes to meet the ambitious 13.5 percent increase in tax revenue targeted under the 2026 draft state budget (RAPBN).

“Policies remain based on existing laws such as the Tax Regulation Harmonization Law. So, is there a new tax? No,” Sri Mulyani said at a press conference on the RAPBN and 2026 Financial Note in Jakarta, Friday (15/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.

Tax revenues are projected at Rp 2,357.7 trillion next year. To achieve this, the ministry will focus on internal reforms including greater use of the Coretax system, improved data exchange among government institutions, and tighter compliance monitoring.

Additional efforts include reforming digital transaction taxation, strengthening joint audit programs, and offering fiscal incentives for purchasing power, investment, and downstream industries. The government has also set a higher tax ratio target of 10.47 percent of GDP.

Total state revenue is targeted to reach Rp 3,147.7 trillion in 2026.
