Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police has not received any reports about a ministry vehicle allegedly driving in the busway lane in the Thamrin area of Central Jakarta, an official said.

“We’ll look into this. I haven’t received any reports yet,” said Senior Superintendent Latif Usman, the Metro Jaya Police Director of Traffic, on Wednesday (24/7/2024).

He said they will review the viral video showing a vehicle with RI 24 plates, believed to belong to Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and investigate if patrol officers were involved, according to antaranews.com.

The video, posted by Instagram user @koalisipejalankaki, shows a vehicle with RI 24 plates being asked to move by a patrol officer after entering the busway lane.

Religious Ministry spokesperson Anna Hasbie explained that while vehicles with RI plates are sometimes allowed in the busway, it’s not a daily occurrence. 

She added that the bus seen in the video was not blocking traffic but had a malfunction, which the patrol officers were addressing.
