Inp.polri.go.id - Ternate. In preparation for the 2024 regional elections, North Maluku Regional Police has held a troop deployment ceremony for Operation Mantap Praja Kieraha 2024-2025 at Ngaralamo Salero field in Ternate on Wednesday (11/9/2024).

Brigadier General Stephen M. Napiun, the North Maluku Police Deputy Chief, emphasized that the deployment is crucial for assessing personnel, equipment, and facilities before the elections. He hopes for a safe, smooth, and peaceful election, which will be a testament to the democratic quality and future of North Maluku.

The simultaneous elections, beginning with preliminary stages on 24 August 2024, and voting on 27 November, 2024, present unique challenges due to their scale and timing. The high political activity could lead to risks such as identity politics, divisive issues, and misinformation.

Operation Mantap Praja Kieraha will last 385 days, divided into pre-operation (53 days), operation (240 days), and post-operation phases (92 days). It involves 4,468 personnel, including 3,823 police officers and 645 military soldiers, focusing on preemptive and preventive measures, intelligence, law enforcement, and public relations.
