Starting September 8th, 2024, the Central Board of the XXI National Sports Week (PB PON) of North Sumatra will give away free tickets at the match arena location as an effort to facilitate public access to watch sports matches live. Tickets provided are 30 to 50 percent of the arena capacity.

"Tickets can be obtained on the spot on the day of the match," said the General Secretary of PB PON XXI of North Sumatra Region, Armand Effendy Pohan, in Medan, Saturday (9/7/2024).

Armand explained that this step was taken after the results of the analysis during the 10 days of the match showed a discrepancy between online ticket sales and the level of attendance of spectators in the arena.

This decision was taken because tickets sold online through the pon2024.id site were always sold out, but the facts on the ground showed a low number of spectators attending the arena.

This step is expected to increase the enthusiasm of the people of North Sumatra to support national athletes competing in PON XXI and enliven the biggest sporting event in Indonesia.
