“One of the prominent case is a sexual abuse against minor by SA, a young man aged 20 from East Lombok. SA has been arrested by the police and will be punished with heavy sanctions according to the law,” explains Pujawati.

Pujawati says that SA will be charged with Law Number 17 of 2016 concerning Child Protection, the threat of punishment for SA is imprisonment for a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 15 years, as well as a maximum fine of 5 billion rupiah for violations of the Child Protection Law. Meanwhile, for the Sexual Violence Crime Law, the maximum penalty is 12 years in prison and a maximum fine of 300 million rupiah.
