Inp.polri.go.id - Kupang. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police held meeting with key stakeholders, including Acting Governor's representative, Head of Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), NTT KPU Chairperson's representative, Vice Chief of NTT Regional Police, Regional Leaders Communication Forum (Forkopimda), and the Geophysical, Climatological, and Meteorological Agency (BMKG), on Wednesday (6/2/2024). Chaired by Inspector General Daniel Tahi Monang Silitonga, Chief of NTT Regional Police, the meeting underscored the imperative of assessing readiness for the impending voting process. "This meeting serves as a platform for sharing insights into the various stages of the 2024 Elections, from voting to ballot box collection," he explained. The NTT KPU Chairperson's representative provided an overview of the election stages and schedule outlined in Regulation No. 3/2022. Additionally, the NTT Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) Chairperson's representative presented findings from campaign monitoring conducted between November 28 and January 31, 2024. In anticipation of the campaign silence period, Bawaslu highlighted concerns such as off-schedule campaigning, vote-buying, aid distribution irregularities, and adherence to political attribute regulations. Supervisory efforts during vote counting will prioritize identifying vulnerable polling stations based on past electoral experiences. The Director of Intelligence and Security of NTT Regional Police specifically addressed the police's role in averting societal polarization and global issues that could disrupt the 2024 Elections process. The meeting concluded with a review of significant incidents during the campaign stages. (ar/pt/pr/nm)
