Inp.polri.go.id - Labuan Bajo. As ASEAN Summit held at Labuan Bajo draws near, the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police have prepared a traffic engineering scheme and vehicle restrictions to ensure the smooth and secure proceedings of the event.

"We are planning to implement the traffic management from May 7th to May 10th, 2023. We have also devised alternative routes to ensure that community activities are not disrupted," the Chief of East Nusa Tenggara Regional Police Inspector General Johanis Asadoma said on Thursday (27/4/23).

However, he added that the traffic engineering is only temporary measure and will only be implemented when the delegation and heads of state of the ASEAN Summit pass through, intended to minimize traffic congestion and facilitate the mobility of the delegation and heads of states.

In order to assist the traffic engineering measure, he emphasized the responsible parking and urged the public to avoid careless parking along the designated roads, "We urge the public to avoid careless parking, particularly along Soekarno Street, Kampung Ujung, or in front of the Meruorah Hotel. Two and four-wheeled vehicles should also steer clear of Soekarno Hatta upper-lower roads, Bukit Silvia, and Pede Gorontalo roads."
