Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Papua Regional Police reported that the registration process for prospective regional heads in the 2024 Regional Head Elections across Papua, including three New Autonomous Regions (DOB), proceeded smoothly and peacefully. 

The police credited this success to the collaboration and maturity of the public.

"Papua Police extends its gratitude and appreciation to all community elements. Thanks to their cooperation, the 2024 Regional Head Election registration process over the past three days was safe and orderly," Senior Superintendent. Benny Adi Prabowo said on Saturday (31/8/2024).

He highlighted the political maturity demonstrated by the people of Papua and the three DOBs during the candidate registration process. He also appreciated the strong collaboration between the Indonesian National Police (INP), the Indonesian Military (TNI), and other security partners, which ensured the security of this democratic milestone.

The TNI and INP will continue to collaborate with all community components to safeguard the 2024 Regional Head Elections, emphasizing that maintaining security is a shared responsibility.
