The Yahukimo Sub-Regional Police is currently investigating the recent case of the blaze that consumed a multipurpose building used by the Village Community Empowerment Agency (BPMK), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), and the Local Revenue Office (Dispenda) of Yahukimo Regency, said the Chief of  Papua Regional Police Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri. He said that the perpetrators responsible for this incident are actively being pursued for legal action, irrespective of whether they are leaders affiliated with the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Yahukimo or individuals following their lead. "We're pursuing all perpetrators involved, and we assure that those who haven't been captured and their leaders will be held accountable under the law. Residents and children associated with Armed Criminal Group (KKB) should be secured, there's no need to be afraid," he said as quoted from Antara, on Sunday (8/27/23). He also stressed the need for decisive actions to prevent similar incidents from happening again, stating, "Regardless of the age, whether they are youngsters or middle school students, if found to have been involved, they will be arrested.
