inp.polri.go.id -  The West Jakarta Metro Police thwarted the circulation of marijuana weighing 209 kilograms through garbage truck. West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Pasma Royce said, there were six sacks that were brought by the garbage truck from Sumatra to Java. This arrest stems from information on the distribution of marijuana in Sumatra to Banten by the suspect with the initials SL. Having this knowledge, investigators immediately carried out reconnaissance in the field. Based on SL information, he ordered an expedition driver with the initials SO to deliver the illicit goods using a garbage truck. "SO was asked to deliver the marijuana package with the promise of a cash reward of Rp75 million," said the Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police at a press conference in Jakarta, Friday (09/09/2022). SO then agreed to the request. He immediately picked up 209 kilograms of marijuana which was packaged into 200 packages at a warehouse in the Namorambe Deli Tua Street, Medan, North Sumatra. "He put the marijuana package in the pile of junk in the truck," he explained. SO was also arrested on the way while he was at a mini supermarket in the Terate Village area, Kramat Watu, Serang, Banten, Sunday (21/09/2022). Based on the results of the SO examination, the marijuana is planned to be distributed to the Jakarta area and its surroundings. Now the police are still detaining SO for further questioning for the possibility of other marijuana trafficking. At the same time, officers in the field are still looking for SL, who is now on the wanted list. This arrest adds to the list of revealed cases of marijuana trafficking that have been carried out by the West Jakarta Metro Police. The Head of the West Jakarta Metro Police claims that in the last eight months, his party has revealed a total of one tonne of marijuana from the between-island drug trafficking. "For the last eight months, our ranks have revealed the circulation of marijuana networks across Sumatra and Java with a total weight of 1,099 kilograms or more than one ton. We ensure that the disclosure process will continue," he concluded.
