inp.polri.go.id - East Java. The East Java Regional Police General Criminal Investigation Directorate managed to secure a number of objects from the rubble of the collapsed prayer room at the Al Khoziny Islamic Boarding School, Buduran, Sidoarjo, on Sunday (10/5/2025).

It is suspected that these objects will be used as evidence and have been taken to the East Java Regional Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The investigation can be seen from the arrival of a number of East Java Regional Police personnel to the scene, who then carried pieces of wooden beams and iron from the rubble of the building.

Previously the East Java Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Nanang Avianto, on Friday, October 3, emphasized that the incident of the collapse of the prayer room which killed dozens of people would still be processed legally.

"Initial indications of the cause of the collapse will be explained by experts for scientific validation. So, please be patient while we complete the victim evacuation," he explained.

As of Sunday evening, the joint SAR team had successfully evacuated 153 victims, with 49 fatalities.
