Police Intercept 15 Kg of Narcotics in Pontianak

West Kalimantan Regional Police have foiled a drug smuggling operation, seizing 15 kg of narcotics from a trafficker  in Siantan Hilir village, Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Brigadier General Roma Hutajulu, the Deputy Chief of West Kalimantan Police, announced on Monday (25/3/2024) that the arrest of drug dealer, identified as ON, and  the confiscation of 15 kg of narcotics, was started with a tip about a man transporting crystal methamphetamine from Bengkayang regency to Pontianak. "This operation, part of Operation Pekat Kapuas 2024, targeted ON, a resident of Sanggau Ledo District, Bengkayang Regency," he said. During the search, the investigators seized 15 packets of crystal methamphetamine weighing a total of 15,904 grams. The suspect and evidence were then transferred to the West Kalimantan Police Narcotics Directorate for further investigation. The suspect faces charges under Law Number 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.
