Inp.polri.go.id – Paniai. The Sub-regional Police of Paniai investigates two assaults that occurred in Trans Papua Road. The Head of Papua Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo explains the incident on Sunday (4/21/2024) on the Madi-Enarotali section.

The incident began when a public transportation driver was stabbed by his passenger. The driver states that the incident occurred at 12.45 pm local time. When attacked by the passenger with a knife, the victim fought back and injured the assailant's hand. He then immediately got off and ran away.

Then, not so long after, police also got the report that at around 13.05 pm, a motorcycle taxi driver named Suryono was laid down on the road covered in blood. Witness states that they saw the suspect driving with Jupiter Z motorcycle at high speed with a knife in hand towards Enarotali Village.

Furthermore, Paniai Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Abdus Syukur reveals there are allegations that the assault was carried out by the same person.

“Personnel has come to the location and gathered all the evidence and witness examination to uncover the identity of the suspect,” said Abdus quoted from antaranews.
