Inp.polri.go.id - Banjarmasin. The the Narcotics Investigation Directorate at theSouth Kalimantan Regional Police seized a total of 16 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine from five cases uncovered between 1 January and 3 February 2024.
"We have arrested seven suspects, one of whom is a woman," said Director of the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the South Kalimantan Regional Police Senior Superintendent Kelana Jaya on Thursday (8/2/2024).
The police also confiscated thousands of ecstasy pills of various colors and logos from a cross-provincial narcotics trafficking network uncovered at the beginning of 2024.
In his statement, Chief Kelana said that drug syndicate's efforts to smuggle drugs into South Kalimantan never cease. Consequently, the police continued regular tracing and investigating every drug-related arrest.
In addition to community information, scientific data processing is prioritized to ensure that every piece of incoming information is accurately analyzed, he said.
Chief Kelana revealed that no matter how small, information from the community is invaluable to their efforts in uncovering drug distribution networks.
"The community's participation is a crucial part of our joint efforts to combat drug trafficking. On the other hand, education to discourage drug use among the public also needs to be intensified to break the chain of this illicit business," he said.
