The Team Unit 3 of the Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Narcotics Investigation Unit uncovered a case of crystal methamphetamine distribution within the Tangerang Penitentiary (Lapas). From this disclosure, a suspect with the initials ODB alias Buluk was arrested.

Tangerang City Sub-regional Metro Police Chief, Senior Superintendent  Zain Dwi Nugroho explained that this arrest was made after an intensive investigation related to information from officers at the Tangerang Class IIA Youth Penitentiary.

"On Saturday (11/23/2024) at around 22:00, our officers received a report of a suspicious package in a bird cage at the Tangerang Class IIA Youth Penitentiary," he said on Friday (11/29/2024).

After coordinating with the prison authorities, he said, officers found two plastic clip packages containing crystal methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 130.85 grams. The suspect Buluk, who is an inmate at the prison, admitted to ordering the crystal methamphetamine package from someone named Coki who is currently still being pursued (DPO).

"The evidence that was successfully confiscated, namely two plastic clip packages containing narcotics type crystal methamphetamine with a total gross weight of 130.85 grams, one bird cage and one mobile phone unit," conclude Zain.
