Polri Recorded More Than 20,000 Road Violators in the First Day of Operation Patuh Jaya

inp.polri.go.id – The National Police (Polri) recorded as many as 20,047 traffic violations during the 2022 Patuh Operation. This number is from the first day of operation. "Based on the report from the Command Post for Operation Patuh 2022 at the Regional Police for the first day of its implementation, the number of traffic violations was 20,047," explained the Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of Polri’s Public Relations Division (Divisi Humas), Brigadier General Dr. Ahmad Ramadhan, S.H., M.H., M.Sc., Tuesday (14/06/22). Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan said 2,698 of violator were able to be detected through e-TLE and 17,349 others are manually. Among those huge numbers, 8,378 violations were committed by motorbike drivers. "With the three most common types of violations are riding with more than one passenger which were recorded as many as 4,189 violations, then using non-SNI helmet as many as 3,303, and driving against the flow, which were recorded as many as 508 violations," said the One-Star General. Then for violators with cars and other special vehicles are recorded as many as 2,578 violations. From those numbers, 1,289 of them are exceeding the numbers of passengers, and 1,020 others are violating the rules of seatbelt, while the other 100 are driving against the flow. Meanwhile, there are 101 accidents that happened in the road with 11 total casualties and 123 others are having severe injuries. “The loss reached Rp136 millions,” said Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan. Polri held Operation Patuh 2022 for the next two week, starting from 13 June to 26 June 2022 throughout Indonesia. In this Operation, Polri focused on enforcing the law through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement.c
