inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto announced that the budget allocation for the welfare of State Civil Servant (ASN) and non-ASN teachers will increase in 2025 to IDR 81.6 trillion, an increase of IDR 16.7 trillion compared to the previous year.

The policy was announced by the President during his speech at the peak of the 2024 National Teachers' Day commemoration at the Rawamangun Velodrome, East Jakarta, Thursday (11/28/2024) evening.

“Today I was a bit relaxed to stand here in front of you because although we were just working for a month, we are already able to announce that we will ensure your welfare,” said Prabowo in front of thousands of teachers attending the commemoration.

In the event, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of the role of teachers in national development, while also announcing various new policies aimed at improving the welfare of educators.

He explained that the government has increased the budget for the welfare of ASN teachers, Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), and non-ASN teachers.

ASN teachers will receive additional welfare of one basic salary, while the professional allowance for non-ASN teachers will be increased to IDR 2 million per month.

President Prabowo also said that the budget for the welfare of ASN and non-ASN teachers is also allocated for certification activities for teachers in all regions.

"In 2025, there will be 1,932,666 teachers with teacher certificates, which is 64.4 percent, an increase of 650 certified teachers compared to 2024," explained President Prabowo.

As part of the government's commitment to improving the quality and professionalism of teachers, as many as 806,486 ASN and non-ASN teachers who have met the qualifications will participate in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) program in 2025.

In addition, the government will provide educational assistance for 249,623 teachers who currently do not have a degree to continue their studies.

The form of support for non-ASN teachers who are not yet certified, said the President, will be given cash assistance through bank transfers that are being designed together with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) to help this group.

"The number of recipients will be announced in 2025. Now BPS is calculating and looking for, both the exact names and addresses, who are entitled to receive the benefits," explained President Prabowo.

He emphasized that this policy is part of the government's concrete steps to ensure that teachers receive proper appreciation for their contribution in educating the nation's life.
