Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Puan Maharani has been re-elected as the Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) for the 2024-2029 term during a plenary meeting on Tuesday (1/10/2024).
In addition to Puan from the PDI Perjuangan faction, the meeting also confirmed four other Deputy Speakers.
The newly appointed Deputy Speakers are Adies Kadir from the Golkar Party, Sufmi Dasco from Gerindra Party, Saan Mustopa from National Democratic Party, and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal from the National Awakening party (PKB).
The appointments followed Article 427D of the MPR, DPR, DPD, and DPRD Law (UU MD3), designating one speaker and four deputy speakers based on party seat allocations.
Puan held the position of the House Speaker from 2019 to 2024. The plenary session also included the swearing-in of new members and the establishment of DPR factions. A total of 580 DPR members and 152 Regional Representative Council (DPD) members were sworn in today.
