Public Relations Division of Indonesian National Police conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at the Sumatra Thawalib Islamic Boarding School Parabek Bukittinggi in Jorong Parabek, Nagari Ladang Laweh, Banuhampu District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra On Thursday (14/10).

Chief of Bukittinggi Departemental Police, Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Dody Prawiranegara, represented by the Chief Deputy of the Bukittinggi Departemental Police, Police Commissioner Sukur Hendri Saputra, in his remarks, welcomed and thanked the Public Relations Division Team of Indonesian National Police for their arrival in the jurisdiction of the Bukittinggi Police, and also at the Sumatran Islamic Boarding School Thawalib Parabek.

Furthermore, Police Commissioner Sukur also expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Boarding School Leaders, the Lecturers, the Great Student (Maha Santri) and Students, and Santri (Student), who participated in the FGD.

"Hopefully, through this activity, the understanding of terrorism and radicals can be understood, then prevented from growing and developing," he explained.

The activity was attended by the Chief Deputy of Departemental Police and Head of the Operations Section of the Bukittinggi Departemental Police, Police Commissioner Attendant Julianson, Head of Public Relations of the Bukittinggi Departemental Police, Police Commissioner Attendant R.H. Sitinjak, Head of Patrol Banuhampu Sectoral Police, Police Commissioner Attendant AD. Nasution, and Kaur Bin Ops (KBO) of Bukittinggi Departemental Police Security Intelligence, Police Inspector Second Class Adrion.

In his speech, caretaker of the Sumatran Islamic Boarding School Thawalib Parabek Bukittinggi H.M. Zaki Munawwar, Lc, that Islamic Boarding School agrees with the theme "TERORISM IS OUR TOGETHER ENEMY", and Islamic Boarding School always provide assistance to the Government, Islamic Boarding School also has a moderate attitude in seeing differences.

H.M. Zaki added that all alumni are the glue of the nation, and Islamic boarding schools are always ready to side by side with government officials and security forces to build this nation.

Furthermore, the Indonesian National Police Public Relations Division Team, each Police Grand Commissioner Hendra Rochmawan (Head of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police) as Team Leaders, together with team member Police Grand Commissioner Attendant Sugeng Prayitno (Head of Domestic Partners Sub Division of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police), Police Inspector Second Class Sigit Satriadi (Pama of the Multimedia Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police), Penata Dwi Restuadhi (Noncommissioned Officer for General Affairs of Production and Documentation Section of Information Management and Documentation Bureau of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Regional Government Erni Purwanti (Noncommissioned Officer for General Affairs General Information Section of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police), Police Chief Brigadier Herlina Swandy (Noncommissioned Officer for General Affairs of General Information of Public Information Bureau of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police) and Ustad (Cleric) Makmun (Secretary of the Agency for Countering Extremism and Terrorism of the Central Indonesian Ulema Council), together with the Public Relations of West Sumatra Regional Police.

In his speech, Police Grand Commissioner Hendra thanked the Islamic boarding schools Leaders, the Lecturers, the Maha Santri and Students, and Santri who participated in the current FGD.

Then Police Grand Commissioner Hendra said that the State and the Nation must not lose to terrorism, then there is no place for terrorism. It is hoped that all Maha Santri, Students and Santri can filter all forms of information on social media and become counter-radicalism.

Ustad (Cleric) Makmun delivered the material in the FGD on Prevention and Countermeasures against Radicalism and terrorism, with the theme "Terrorism is our together enemy", by declaring that all of us increase counter-radicals after delivering the material, followed by a question and answer session with the FGD participants.
