inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Mochamad Basuki Hadimoeljono reveals that his party will continue the construction of Way Apu Dam in Buru Regency, Maluku Province.
“This project is part of our program,” says the minister on Wednesday (9/18/2024).
The construction of Way Dam was started in 2017 and initially set to be completed by this year. Unfortunately, the progress was halted and there are no signs that the dam can be completed in 2024.
Built on 422.08 hectares of land, the dam can accommodate water up to 50.05 million cubic meters. An interconnection network will also be built around the dam.
The Way Apu Dam was built by adopting a vertical core embankment zonal type with a height of 72 meters. Then the peak width is 12 meters and the peak length is 490 meters, with a flooded area of 235.10 hectares.
The contract value for the construction of the Way Apu Dam was recorded at IDR 2.08 trillion with the construction process carried out in two stages. The first stage is the construction of the main dam worth IDR 1.07 trillion and the next is the construction of the spillway dam worth IDR 1.013 trillion.
In addition to Way Apu, Basuki and his party will also continue the construction of nine other dams in 2025. These include the Bagong Dam (East Java), Bener (Central Java), Budong-Budong (West Sulawesi), and Cibeet and Cijurai (West Java).
