Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Intan Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Afrizal Asri, acknowledges ongoing efforts by security forces to restore public order in the Sugapa region and its surroundings, which have been disrupted by the armed criminal group (KKB).
"The Indonesian Military and the Indonesian National Police officers stationed in Sugapa, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua, have been working hard to provide a sense of security by restoring public order," he said on Wednesday (24/1/2024) Chief Afrizal disclosed that a coordination meeting had been conducted to discuss security measures and control the situation in Sugapa. However, while the current situation is relatively calm and under control, community activities have yet to return to normal, antaranews.com reported. Chief Afrizal expectedthat  regular activities, including air travel, could resume to normal by Thursday. He revealed that KKB initiated attacks with gunfire on last Friday  from various directions.
