Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. A Smart Air Aviation Cakrawala aircraft skidded off the runway in Kampung Pogapa, Homeyo District, Intan Jaya Regency, Central Papua. 

The plane, registered as PK-SNK, was on a charter flight from Nabire whent the incident occurred around 8.30 am local time during landing at the Homeyo airstrip, as reported by antaranews.com.

Papua Regional Police Head of Public Relations Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo said on Wednesday (2/10/1014) that the aircraft was carrying one passenger and rice aid from the Intan Jaya Food Security Office. 

There were no casualties or injuries reported. Local police and community members promptly assisted in returning the aircraft to the runway.

The cause of the skidding is under investigation by the Intan Jaya Sub-regional Police. Following the incident, the plane was able to take off again, heading back to Douw Aturure Airport in Nabire.
