Inp.polri.go.id – South Sumatra. The Traffic Director of South Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Pratama Adhyasastra reviews the traffic situation in KM 2 of Betung-Jambi Road on Saturday (4/6/2024) night. “We and related stakeholders review the traffic flow at KM 52. The situation is that vehicles going to Jambi from Betung are quite packed. However it is still under control,” report the Traffic Director on Sunday (4/7/2024). “We from the Traffic Unit of South Sumatra Regional Police, Jambi Regional Police, and Lampung Regional Police, also all ranks of Banyuasin Sub-regional Police and our colleagues from the Military will continue to manage the traffic flow in Banyuasin,” he continued. Other than the increasing volume, Pratam also assessed the congestion was due to the narrowness of the road. “The high elevation of the road from the side road to the body of the road also caused the traffic jam. This makes overtaking difficult as it could lock the traffic flow,” said Pratama. In preventing the traffic jams turn worse, police and related stakeholders limit the huge vehicles from accessing the road. Then, police also prepared personnel for support through barcodes if there are any problems. “If there are any issues, travelers could report the situation through our barcode. It will be integrated into our ranks and police will soon come afterwards,” explains Pratama in conclusion. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
