Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) under the Ministry of Finance has denied claims of a data breach involving taxpayer identification numbers (NPWP), saying. that no evidence of data leaks was found in their information system over the past six years.

"Based on our research, there is no indication of a direct data leak from the DJP's information system," said DJP spokesperson Dwi Astuti on Friday (20/9/2024).

While the data structure circulating online is not related to taxpayers' rights or obligations, DJP is working together with the Ministry of Communication and Information, the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), and the police to investigate the issue further, according to antaranews.com.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani has urged DJP to evaluate the alleged data leak, following claims by a cybersecurity expert that six million NPWP records, including personal details, were being sold online by hacker Bjorka.

DJP reassured the public of their commitment to data security and urged citizens to take precautionary steps to protect their information.
