inp.polri.go.id - A total of 64 participants of the Equator Precision Gowes Team who cycled a distance of 508 km had arrived at their destination, the Police Academy (Akpol) Semarang, in less than 24 hours. Now this effort has been enshrined in the records of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). The participants consisted of two teams, namely Team Arjuna and Team Garuda. The two teams consist of the Indonesian National Police (Polri), athletes, and the cycling community. When entering the Tanggon Kosala Gate of the Police Academy on Sunday (26/6/22) morning, their arrival was greeted directly by the Governor of the Police Academy, Inspector General Drs. Suroto, M.Sc., along with several high officials from the Academy and Central Java Police who draped flower bouquets to the cyclists. The Head of the ICT Division of Polri, Inspector General Slamet Uliandi, stated that the breaking of MURI record by Polri is to search another young talented cyclists who are expected to participate in international events, other than welcoming the 76th Bhayangkara Day in 2022. "The attempt to break the MURI record is also part of increasing the economy and investment in Indonesia. Along the route, we also continue to encourage and also carry out social services up to a distance of 508 km," explained the Head of the ICT Division. It was also mentioned that trying to break the record was not an easy thing to do. "The terrain is difficult, and we attempt to cross 508 km under 24 hours. We departed from Police Headquarters at half past 6 in the morning last Saturday, and thankfully on Sunday morning at 05.15 WIB we arrived at the Police Academy," explained the Head of the ICT Division. Head of the Central Java Police's logistics bureau, Commissioner Farid Bachtiar Effendi, who is also a participant in the Equator Precision Gowes team said the record was successfully broken through good cooperation between the teams in the cycling team. "The Garuda team consists of members of Polri and TNI, as well as athletes, while the Arjuna team consists of the TNI-Polri and the bicycle community. The two teams cooperate well with each other so that the 508 km route can be traveled smoothly without any problems," explained the Head of Logistic Bureau of Central Java Police. However, he admitted that the toughest challenge was when the team crossed the Batang - Alas Roban route. Crossing the route at night, the team was halted by heavy rain, so they took shelter at the Alas Roban Traffic Post. "The toughest challenge was when crossing Alas Roban, it rained heavily and we took shelter at the Alas Roban Traffic Post. But thankfully, we were able to continue our journey still able to achieve our target in arriving at the destination under 24 hours," stated the Head of Logistic Bureau of Central Java Police.
