inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Thousands of police personnel deployed to secure the Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly Yearly Meeting and Joint Meeting of Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) on Friday (8/16/2024).

“Total joint members for this security are 3,457 personnel,” says the Head of Metro Jaya Regional Police Public Relations Division, Senior Superintendent Ade Ary Syam in written statement.

He details that the thousand personnel consist of 3,137 police personnel from Indonesian National Police (INP), 223 members of Indonesian National Military (TNI), and 97 from Regional Government. They will be stationed at the DPR/MPR Building, HI Roundabout, Horse Statue, and along the routes crossed by the President from the Presidential Palace to the location.

According to him, the deployment of the thousand personnel was to assure safe, secure, and smooth traffic during the important event. Moreover, they will prioritize preventive and law enforcement approaches for this security operation.
