inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Vice Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono stressed that Indonesia can realize food self-sufficiency by studying technology such as that used by China.

“Amidst the challenges of climate changes and land limitations, we can study the technology and policy of China, and we can realize the food self-sufficiency such as China,” says Sudaryono on Monday (9/23/2024).

Therefore, Sudaryono conveys the importance of strategic collaboration between Indonesia and China in improving national food sustainability. He also highlights the achievement of China who successfully realized food sustainability for their 1 billion population.

According to him, the key to China's success in maintaining food sustainability is the implementation of modern technology such as big data in agriculture system management and full support from the government towards the agriculture sector.

Furthermore, solid cooperation between two parties will not only boost agriculture products, but also strengthen Indonesia’s position in the global food supply chain. He emphasized that the collaboration of Indonesia and China will not only revolve around technology transfer, but also opportunities in knowledge sharing in developing plant varieties, water resource management, and subsidy policy and incentive for farmers.

He says that China is one of Indonesia’s important partners, both in diplomacy, trading, student exchange, and mutual benefits.

Indonesia’s government is currently developing various initiatives to strengthen national food sustainability, and cooperation with countries who have successful experience in the sector, such as China.

He invites all parties, both from public and private parties, to jointly support the effort.
