Inp.polri.go.id - Yogyakarta. Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has suspended a graduate student, identified as Dwi Hartono, after he was named a suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Muhammad Ilham Pradipta, the Head of Bank BRI Cempaka Putih branch in Central Jakarta.
“The student has been suspended from all academic activities for the 2025/2026 odd semester as part of UGM’s support for the ongoing legal process and investigation,” UGM spokesperson I Made Andi Arsana said in a statement on Wednesday (27/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Suspect Dwi was a first-semester master’s student in management at UGM’s Jakarta campus.
The Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police confirmed he is one of the intellectual masterminds behind the crime. Dwi, a motivator and online tutoring entrepreneur, was arrested with two other suspects in Surakarta, Central java on 23 August 2025. Another was detained the following day in Jakarta’s Pantai Indah Kapuk area.
In total, 15 suspects, both executors and planners, have been arrested.
