inp.polri.go.id -  In the city of Kungsangen, Sweden, the leaders of United Nations (UN) Peacekeeper from 26 countries held a meeting. Those peacekeepers are part of the UN Senior Mission Leaders (SML) Course program. The program that includes senior officials from civil organizations, military and police representatives from around the world, was held from 5-17 June at the Kunsangen peace mission training center. As a Police Contributing Country to the UN mission, Brigadier General Krishna Murti was the only participant with a police officer background from Asia, where the other participants are mostly from civil organizations and military organizations. From this SML program, recruitment is prepared to fill international police positions in their respective countries, or become the leader of UN Peacekeeping missions. SML strengthens and deepens the knowledge on operational management in UN Peacekeeping Operations. Generally, SML is also beneficial for the development of international police cooperation. Brigadier General Krishna Murti, who now serves as Head of the International Mission Bureau of the International Relations Division of the National Police, confirmed his attendance in the UN program. Contacted via the international network, Brigadier General Krishna just answered shortlu, "Yes I'm in Sweden". The former Head of Police Planners of at the UN headquarters in New York from 2011-2013, did not answer further questions about the international missions currently being carried out by the National Police. The Indonesian National Police have indeed been sent a contingent of peacekeeper officers in conflict countries, such as to the Middle East, Bosnia in the Balkan peninsula, to the latest police mission to Darfur, Sudan in Africa. The achievements of the National Police in international peacekeeping missions are also quite successful, even recognized by partner countries and by the United Nations.
