inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Deputy for Human Development Policy Support and Development Equity of the Vice President Secretariat (Setwapres) Suprayoga Hadi says there are still five provinces in Indonesia with the stunting prevalence rate above 30 percent.
“There are five provinces who still have the prevalence rate above 30 percent and it requires our full attention and proper handling,” says Suprayoga on Tuesday (9/10/2024).
He reveals that the five province are Central Papua (39.4%), East Nusa Tenggara (37.9%), Papua Mountains (37.3%), Southwest Papua (31%), West Sulawesi (30.3%), and Southeast Sulawesi (30%).
In response to this, Suprayoga emphasized the importance of Family Supporting Team (TPK) in the five provinces to accompany and educate the families risked with stunting so that they can effectively reduce the stunting rate.
However, he still appreciates the decrease of stunting rate for the past five years where from 2018 to 2023, Indonesia has successfully reduced the stunting prevalence for 9.3 percent.
“This is a significant achievement and hopefully this trend can continue in the next period Although we still have the responsibility to successfully reduce the stunting rate for 14 percent in 2024,” says Suprayoga.
