Inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. Vice President Ma'ruf Amin convened a meeting with several human rights activists at the Papua Governor's Office during his official visit to the province on Tuesday morning (10/10/2023). The Vice President was accompanied by Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs John Wempi Wetipo, and Acting Governor of Papua Ridwan Rumasukun. Masduki Baidlowi, the Special Staff for Communication and Information and Spokesperson for the Vice President, explained that the Vice President, in his capacity as the Chair of the Steering Committee for the Acceleration of Special Economic Development in Papua (BP3OKP), is responsible for accelerating the development of the welfare of the Papuan people, antaranews.com reported. "I believe that the committee (BP3OKP) has been absorbing these aspirations. Likewise, human rights activist colleagues will bring aspirations from the KKB," he said, referring to the Armed Criminal Group. The spokesperson emphasized that the Vice President is committed to addressing all concerns raised during the meeting, underlining Papua's significance in the government's efforts to improve the local community's well-being. "The Vice President's primary concern is NKRI, and this remains the fundamental principle," he said, referring to the Republic of Indonesia. During his second day of his official visit to Papua, the Vice President also convened a session with leaders of associations representing native Papuan entrepreneurs. The Tuesday's agenda concluded with a coordination meeting at the Progress and Development Agency, addressing the latest updates on the planning and execution of infrastructure projects in four new autonomous regions in Papua.
