Around 30 kilograms of methamphetamine prepared to be smuggled on 2024 New Year Eve in Jakarta have been thwarted by West Jakarta Metro Regional Police Drug Investigation Unit. In that case, three suspects with the initials of LH (39), YL (48), and AM (45) who acts as the courier. In addition, during the arrest of the three suspects, police also confiscated three water gallons containing methamphetamine packaged with plastics weighing 30 kilograms. West Jakarta Metro Sub-regional Police, Senior Superintendent M. Syahduddi explains that the methamphetamine is part of the drug flow from Malaysia-Aceh-Jakarta. The drugs would later be circulated in Jakarta during the 2024 New Year Eve. “Ahead the 2024 New Year Eve, we have gained an intel that there would be drug flow coming to Jakarta, particularly to West Jakarta. Fortunately, by the end of it we have intercept the suspects in Aceh by arresting LH, YL, and AM,” reports Syahduddi on Thursday (12/28/2023). Examination results states that the three suspects were paid with IDR 100 million for every 10 kilograms of drugs entering Jakarta.
