The West Jakarta Metro Police conducted a 'Ngopi Bareng' (Coffee Morning) event in Cengkareng West Jakarta, aiming to engage residents in safeguarding public order and security in the lead-up to the 2024 General Election. Senior Superintendent Syahduddi, the Chief of West Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police, emphasized the importance of proactive measures, saying, "This is crucial as we approach the 2024 General Election. The Cengkareng area, with its diverse ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, could pose Kamtibmas issues without effective anticipatory efforts." He highlighted the significance of harmony amidst diversity to address differences in political choices. "With the upcoming democratic event in 2024, any contribution from residents to maintaining Kamtibmas is significant for preserving unity and a conducive atmosphere, especially in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta," Chief Syahduddi added. He expressed hope for collaborative efforts between government officials and Cengkareng residents to take anticipatory measures and create a secure and orderly environment. Syahduddi suggested creative steps such as installing surveillance cameras (CCTV), implementing entrance and exit restrictions in the neighborhood, and activating neighborhood security units (Satkamling).
