inp.polri.go.id - The personnel of the Directorate for Security of Vital Objects (Pamobvit) and the Directorate of Samapta of the West Papua Police were deployed at all public gas stations in Manokwari to anticipate the issue of increase in fuel prices. West Papua Police Head of Public Relations, Commissioner Adam Erwindi said that every day, five to six personnel secure each gas station to anticipate fuel hoarding amid the issue of the government's decision to increase the price of fuel oil. Adam is worried that the information about the increase in fuel prices will make people panic and buy in large quantities. Until now, he said, the situation and conditions were still monitored to be safe even though queues for refueling subsidized fuel continued to occur. "Until now, the situation is under control, Police personnel have been tasked with ensuring the queue of vehicles runs safely and smoothly to avoid unwanted things," said the Head of Public Relations in Manokwari, Saturday, (02/09/2022). The West Papua Regional Police also appealed to the public to report if they found fuel hoarding in the area. "If you sees and finds fuel hoarding, immediately report it to the police, either call center 110 or to the nearest police station," explained the Head of Public Relations of Papua Police.
