Yogayakarta Regional Police Successfully Discovers International Network Business Email Hacking Case

This case began with an alleged illegal access in the form of hacking an email or email belonging to the company of PT. Pagilaran is engaged in the export of food commodity ingredients and has business relations with foreign parties, namely Good Crown Food/Global Tea, Ltd. having its address in Kenya Africa since March 2020. On January 11, 2021, the victim received confirmation that Good Crown Food/ Global Tea, Ltd has paid the invoice sent via a different email address than the victim. Knowing that after viewing the electronic mail channel Good Crown Food/Global Tea, Ltd, carried out the transaction with a different email. That is, the victim's original email address of export(dot)pagilaran(at)gmail(dot)com changed to exporter(dot)pagilaran(at) ) gmail (dot) com (there is the addition of the letter s character), said the Yogyakarta Regional Police Intermediate Officer. The total loss suffered by the victim was IDR 1.4 billion from the sale of bulk tea of 21.2 tons. After receiving the report, the Yogyakarta Regional Police's Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation conducted a digital forensic examination and analysis of the victim's electronic mail address, and the witness at Good Crown Food/Global Tea, Ltd in Kenya Africa.
