As the 2024 election approaches, 1,094 personnel from the Central Sulawesi Regional Police have been on standby as Power On Hand (POH) under the command of the Central Sulawesi Police Chief. Commander of the Tinombala Operation Task Force, Senior Superintendent Richard Benson Pakpahan,, led the  preparation assembly on Sunday (11/2/2024), highlighting that the POH personnel involved are ready to be deployed 24/7 as needed. "Given the unpredictable nature of the situation, the establishment of the POH forces ensures our readiness to respond promptly to any arising needs as directed by our superiors," he said. These POH forces are tasked with ensuring security during the quiet period, voting, and the counting and tabulation of votes for the 2024 elections in the province. The POH consists of a combination of personnel from various units within the Central Sulawesi Police, including the Mobile Brigade, the anti-riot units and bomb squad units The POH personnel are equipped with necessary gear, including shields, vehicles, weaponry, and other supporting equipment. Chief Pakpahan emphasized the importance of maintaining the rapid response of both personnel and equipment for immediate deployment whenever and wherever required. (mg/fa/pr/nm)
