inp.polri.go.id - Medan. The North Sumatra Regional Police logged 1,593 traffic violations on the first day of 2024 Patuh Toba Operation. The operation was held by the police to enforce law.
In Patuh Toba Operation, the law enforcement are using 50 units of Electric Traffic Law Enforcement (ELTE) static cameras and 11 units of ETLE mobile cameras to detect any traffic law violations.
Moreover, police also manually enforce the traffic law with 653 cases recorded, while the other 879 violators were only given warning.
The PR Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi explains that the operation does not only focus on law enforcement, but also to provide education and socialization to the public.
“This activity involves printing media, electronic media, and social media. It is mainly held in areas prone to traffic accidents and violations, to raise public awareness on traffic law,” explained Hadi on Wednesday (7/17/2024).
North Sumatra Regional Police and ranks also actively spread the safety messages through banners, leaflets, posters and billboards.
“Hopefully this operation could solidify public awareness on the importance of complying to the traffic law,” wished Hadi.
