Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A total of 1,890 officers will secure the Jakarta gubernatorial and vice-gubernatorial debate scheduled to take place at Ancol on Sunday.

“We are currently coordinating with the KPU and Ancol officials,” said North Jakarta Regional Police Chief Senior Superintendent Ahmad Fuady on Friday (25/10/2024), referring to the Election Commission.

He added that a security rehearsal and site survey was scheduled on Saturday, according to antaranews.com.

The police will also deploy K9 units to enhance security at the debate venue. 

"We will coordinate with relevant parties to implement traffic management during the event,” Chief Ahmad said.

The KPU has set “Economy and Social Welfare” as the theme for the second debate between the gubernatorial candidates.

The debate will take place at Ecovention, Ancol, starting at 7 pm. A third debate is scheduled for 17 November 2024, ten days before the election on 27 November 2024.
