25,827 Traffic Violations in 7 Days of Operation Patuh Jaya in Jakarta

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In the first week of Operation Patuh Jaya 2024, Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police have addressed 25,827 traffic violations. Of these, 13,820 were caught by Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) cameras, and 12,007 received direct warnings.

The operation highlighted various violations: 1,984 cases of riding against traffic, 1,863 instances of not wearing standard helmets, and 1,097 violations related to road markings. For cars, 8,445 drivers were cited for not wearing seat belts, and 172 were penalized for road markings or improper use of shoulders. In addition, 188 drivers were fined for using their phones while driving, according to antaranews.com.

During the operation, police conducted 17,288 educational activities, including distributing pamphlets and direct advisories on safe driving practices. They emphasized the importance of helmet use, not riding against traffic, not overloading, using standard exhaust systems, and adhering to seat belt laws.

The goal of Operation Patuh Jaya is not only to enforce traffic laws but also to increase public awareness and safety.
