Inp.polri.go.id - Central Java. The Central Java Regional Police has revealed that a total of 26 human trafficking crimes (TPPO) cases has successfully uncovered between June 6-12, 2023.

Brigadier General Abiyoso Seno Aji, the Vice Chief of the Central Java Regional Police, provided further details on these cases. Among the 26 issues, 33 suspects have been arrested, consisting of 23 individuals and 10 individuals connected to various companies. Their arrests were made of their involvement in facilitating the illegal departure of Indonesian migrant workers (TKI) from Magelang, Demak, Jepara, Brebes, Semarang District, Pemalang, Batang, Pati, Kebumen, Banyumas, Tegal, and Banjarnegara.

The vice chief who also serves as the Head of the TPPO Task Force at the Central Java Regional Police stated on Monday (12/6/23), "There are a total of 1.305 victims involved in these cases. Among them, 1.237 individuals have already departed to their respective destination countries, while 68 individuals are still awaiting departure."

He further explained that the suspects carried acts solely for personal gain by exploiting tourist passports and making false promises of high salaries and attractive facilities, which were never fulfilled.

"For departure routes, for those heading to America or Europe, they would first depart to Jakarta, gather at a designated point, and then be sent to the destination country. The same procedure applies for individuals traveling to Singapore or Malaysia, where they transit through Jakarta, then Riau, before continuing their journey by sea to the destination country," he said.
